Roundtable with Elected Officials

L to R:  Ella Moore (TurningPointCT Project Coordinator), Margaret Watt (Positive Directions Prevention Director), Karlene Barnett (Positive Directions LADC), Jim Marpe (Westport First Selectman), Angelina Miceli (Positive Directions Clinical Director), Chris Murphy (US Senator), Jen Hrbek (Positive Directions Executive Director), Ed Milton (Kids in Crisis Teen Talk Counselor), Carolyn Dennett (Positive Directions Psychologist)

Positive Directions was pleased to host US Senator Chris Murphy, State Rep. Jonathan Steinberg (Westport), and Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe on February 19 for a roundtable on behavioral health needs during COVID and beyond. Mental health and substance use issues have increased during COVID, and we were grateful for the opportunity to discuss needs that may be able to be addressed through the federal COVID relief bill under development.

We welcomed our community partners from Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County, Fairfield Public Schools, Kids in Crisis, the National Alliance on Mental Illness-CT Chapter and Westport Human Services Department as part of the discussion. Watch the recorded discussion below and scroll down to check out the factsheet we provided.
